Plant Audits |

We conduct plant audits primarily to assess the efficiency of the operation. A secondary benefit is that bottlenecks within the existing plant are identified and the condition and appropriateness of specific pieces of equipment are assessed. |

Feasibility Studies |

We are normally part of the team responsible for delivering the study to the required level of accuracy. Our inputs consist of equipment selection, flow sheet development, mass balances, process flow diagrams, control philosophies and P&ID’s. |

Flow Sheet Development |

The beneficiation of an ore to a final product can often be achieved by using various pieces of equipment in different combinations, and it is not always obvious which the best is. In order to determine the optimum route, a series of laboratory and pilot scale tests will be conducted and based upon the results the optimum route will become apparent. |

Ore Characterisation |

Ore characterization forms the basis of any project and includes liberation studies, comminution properties, densimetric characterization, magnetic and flotation recovery. Techniques and equipment include Scanning Electron Microscope, Quantitative X-Ray Diffraction, Heavy Liquid Separation, Water and Gas based Pycnometry, Davis tubes and Laboratory Flotation Cells. |

Geometallurgy |

In order to maximize the value of our client’s projects it is often necessary to assist in developing geometallurgical models of the reserve, specifically from a processing perspective. This involves the entire chain from geological block model interpretation and ore classification to ensuring that the proposed mining schedule and beneficiation plant will produce the required product qualities and quantities. |

Modelling and Simulation |

We have developed our modelling expertise to maximize the value added to our services around feasibility studies, flow sheet development and plant audits. Models vary from fundamental process simulations and empirical models developed around specific plants and processes to simulations of the PFD from ROM tip to product load out and high level financial simulations. |

Technical training has been introduced to meet the needs identified by our client base.
This includes commodity and process specific training for plant metallurgists and operators. The objective of the training is to develop an understanding of the available processes and equipment, how these are linked together in a flow sheet and finally how to simulate and size the various pieces of equipment being used. This enables participants to better understand their operations while improving efficiency.
